He holds an MBA in Management from Nova School of Business and Economics.

Basílio Simões is a serial entrepreneur and business angel with over 30 years of professional experience. He has founded more than 10 technology startups, with ISA (Intelligent Sensing Anywhere) being the most relevant one, established in 1990. ISA has become an award-winning international high-tech company, listed on the NYSE Alternext Lisbon (ALISA), specializing in telemetry and remote asset management for the oil and gas sector. The company has over 150 employees and has deployed 100.000 devices in 35 countries.

With the aim of developing a technological ecosystem of innovation and sharing his knowledge about financing and growing international high-tech companies, he has become a Business Angel, coordinating the CBA - Centro Business Angels and managing the initial capital and funds invested in over 30 technology startups. These startups have achieved a CAGR of over 50% in the past 5 years and generated a global revenue exceeding €150 million in 2018.

He holds a Ph.D. in Technological Physics and has over 30 years of experience in the fields of electronics, telemetry, remote control (Internet of Things), innovation management, and entrepreneurship. He is the author or co-author of several dozen scientific publications in international journals, has managed various European projects, and has developed and patented several innovative remote management systems. He is also a Guest Professor in Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra.
